Children Empowerment

Skill Development and Career Destination

In our society a considerable number of children going to schools quit education and end up joining their family professions - for instance, ironing, food stalls, vegetable sales. Such children, in spite of being under the care of certain organisations fail to see relevance of their school education with job. Their parents also do not seem to see instant income out of such education.

In order to give such children a better life, Riannov Management Consultants has launched a skill development program in association with hotel and IT industry of Delhi and NCR.

Nav Garv Otsav 2014 – a beginning towards togetherness !

Our Dwarka on the Children’s Day this year witnessed, for the first time, a togetherness of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) and their children – all thanks to Riannov Management Consultants and Dwarka City for the Nav Garv Otsav 2014 held on 14 November 2014 at Gokul Garden, Sector 7, Dwarka, New Delhi. The head of Social Innovation Group at Riannov, Dr. Sangeeta Maini and her team is proud to have coined the apt name ‘Nav Garv Otsav’ to celebrate the NGO unity as the event witnessed a great excitement among children and an ecstatic proud participation in the competitions; the smiles on children’s faces made everyone proud, and at the same time remained inspirational towards working together for children empowerment. In the Nav Garv Otsav 2014, 228 children from 16 NGOs showed an overwhelming participation in Pot Painting, Chart Painting, Solo and Group Song, Sports and Fun games. The physical or psychological disabilities were defeated by these little fighters who participated at par with the other kids. The highlight of the event was a dance performance by special children of Handicapped Children’s Welfare Association (HCWA) and a group song by Handicapped Children’s Parents Association (HCPA). The director of Riannov Management Consultants, Dr. Krishnan felt emotional when Mrs. Ritika Vinay of HCWA and Mr. S.K. Singh of HCPA shared the excitement and dedication that their children showed during the rehearsals of their performances. While talking to the media representatives of Radio Dwarka and In DNA, children shared their joy for participating in the competitions and winning certificates and great prizes. Further, the children expressed that they enjoyed the day, liked the ambience and relished the snacks provided. No child went empty handed as each child was awarded with a participation certificate. All NGO representatives were honoured with Nav Garv Otsav trophies while Bal Vihar NGO grabbed the BIG prize in the form of a Carrom Board sponsored by Riannov Management Consultants and Dr. Sudhir Gupta Ji of Bensups Hospital.

From the bottom of our hearts, we are thankful to the judges - Mr. R.K. Saini and Ms. Rachna Kathuria for painting, Ms. Chaitali Das and Ms. Vandana Thakur for Music, Dr. Surender Kr. Bhandoria and Ms. Amrita for Sports who took special efforts to attend the event and not only judged the children’s entries but also shared a flavour of their expertise to inspire the children. We are thankful to Mr. R.K. Saini who sat and painted along the children and displayed his amazing art work. Further, Saini Ji offered three of his beautiful paintings to the Nav Garv Otsav that were given away to the competition winners to inspire the children.

We at Riannov Management Consultants and Dwarka City express our gratitude to the NGO heads and representatives for their participation and contribution in the success of Nav Garv Otsav 2014. Ms. Reena Kalra, Director, Cherishing Moments says that she is proud to be a part of a noble cause, initiated by Riannov for differently-abled kids on Children’s Day and look forwards to organizing corporate and school events for special people. Ms. Anindita Ghosh, an educator who handled the Nav Garv Otsav stage very well found it both exciting and a privilege to have been associated with the initiative. According to her, the concept of this event was to bring all NGOs on a single platform, where special children could share their happiness and laughter together. "We took care and planned activities in a manner to enable participation of every child. As things turned out, the active participation, the glee and happiness in the eyes of these special children was very heartening – an emotion perhaps difficult to express in words.", says, Anindita. Ms. Kalra and Ms. Ghosh would like to thank Dr. Krishnan and Dr. Sangeeta Maini for this opportunity, and also the team and all the volunteers who spent hours to make this event a great success.
